"Tie Dye" and Her Mosaics
(a.k.a Lisa Daugherty)
Lisa Daugherty, shown here with her ceramic mosaics that hang in our sanctuary, is one "craft"-y lady. She mentors at the ROCK (where she is known as "Tie Dye", for her wonderfully colorful tie-died shirts and dresses), she has a beautiful herb garden, she is a beautiful person, and she loves the Lord. Her husband, Gene, is a gifted drummer and can repair almost any copy machine going! (That's Geno on our opening page at the bottom standing in front of the "vine-branches" tapestry.).

Lisa's Latest

This mosaic is the most involved to date. Lisa incorporated several bible verses
in the border. Also notice the hands...these are the actual "handprints" of church
members. Each one represents a real person. The focus of the piece is Freedom,
gained through Christ's victory on the cross.

Verses include (clockwise starting at upper left):
2 Cor. 3:17
Luke 4:18
John 8:32
Isaiah 49:9
Col. 1:14
Rom. 6:14
Psalms 34:6
Col. 2:20
Isaiah 48:20
John 8:36

Below are more detailed photos of the top and bottom of the piece. What a
blessing it is to have Lisa and Gene around!

Here is another one...

lisa & her cross
Notice the "drops of blood" coming off the cross - each of the seven is there for a reason. If you're curious about why there is seven, email us and we'll explain!

Another Masterpiece...

Here are some particulars...

The Drops Of Blood:

The 9 blood drops stand for the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. They are also representative of God's tear drops

The Kneeling Figure:

This figure represents us, kneeling at the foot of the cross. Notice we are "covered by the blood."

The Earth

Notice the hands holding the earth...they are God's hands holding us, being in charge

The Inscription

The inscription, in Latin, translates "Bidden or not bidden, God is present." No matter whether we ask Him or not, He is present and willing to help us all the time whether we acknowledge it or not; all we have to do is ask.
