Principles of Freedom

Principle 1: Honesty and Reality
I realize that I am in the hands of something bigger than I am and that I am powerless to control my addictive and dysfunctional behavior.

Principle 2: Grace and Faith
I earnestly believe that God exists, that He loves me, wants to set me free and has the power to do so.

Principle 3: Surrender and Repentance
I am earnestly sorry for the way I have lived and choose to commit my life and everything I am and have to the control of Jesus Christ.

Principle 4: Transparency and Accountability
I honestly examine myself and ask God to examine me, confessing my faults to God, to myself and a trustworthy brother or sister in Christ.

Principle 5: Obedience and Submission
I freely surrender myself to all changes God wants to make in my life ask Him to transform my mind and heart.

Principle 6: Forgiveness and Restitution
I submit all my relationships to God and choose to forgive all who have hurt me. I seek forgiveness from those I have wronged, making restitution when possible.

Principle 7: Prayer and Discipline
I commit time each day to be alone with God in worship, prayer, Bible study and meditation on His Word to seek His will for my life and the power to do it as He transforms me by the renewing of my mind.

Principle 8: Dependence and Purpose
I continually yield myself to God, relying on Him for strength, and seeking to be used by Him to help others find the freedom He has given me.
